When I was a child, a man came to me. He said he was a member of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders). He lectured me about the poverty in developing countries. Each problem in the countries is connected like circle. For example, if there is a poor family, the children can’t go to school because their parents are poor. So the children can’t be given good education. It causes the children are poor. When the children become parents, their children can’t go to school because the parents are poor. So their children are also poor without education. Like this, the poverty is linked to the next generations. In addition, even if we deal with one problem, the problem wouldn’t be resolved entirely. So we have to deal with the problem circle from every direction. After lecture by him, he asked me to donate money to them. Because I was a child at that time, I promised him to donate if I become an adult, though it might be only ten thousand yen. Then he said ten thousand yen is big money. I thought ten thousand yen is too little, but I also thought it might be big money in developing countries. So I said if ten thousand yen is big money, I will donate with pleasure. I have become an adult, and I remembered about this. I’m donating them monthly though it is much less than the amount of money that I thought I’d like to donate.
