『銃後より４句』"The Citizens in the Wartime"

凩の日の丸二つ二人も出している
Two flags of the rising sun are flying at a house in a wintery wind. Two people have been drafted for the military service from the family of the house.

雪へ雪ふる戦いはこれからだという
It is snowing onto the snow. They say that the war will come to its critical moment.

冬牡丹ほっと勇ましいたよりがあった
Wintery peonies bloomed. I felt relieved when I heard a brave news.

しぐれつつしずかにも六百五十柱
The remains of six hundred and fifty soldiers return calmly in a wintery drizzle.
